Houston Rockets v. Portland Trailblazers…and another WIN!!

First Quarter: POR 28 and HOU 34

This game is starting out to be similar to the game against the Golden State Warriors. Asik started out with a nice slam and it’s been another faced paced game tonight.

There have been 5 of 7 3pters made already in the first quarter and there is no much defense going on, from either team. The Rockets are shooting at 65% from the field. Both Lin and Harden are playing well and both have also made 3s already. The only bad news so far, is that there is already one Rockets player out for the rest of the game. Toney Douglas looked like he pulled a muscle near his hip and he went straight to the locker room. Hope it’s nothing to serious!!

****OK…yea…sorry for this half finished post LMAO!! So…what had happened was…basically, I really don’t have much of a social life and last night a friend came over during the 2nd half of the game and proceeded to teach me self defense moves [no I am not making this up] and then we watched the movie “Savages” and there goes my quiet Friday night with just me and my Rockets. *sigh* But since I don’t have many real life friends and I am a loner, I figured I probably shouldn’t pass up a chance at real life social interactions.***

Final Score: POR 103 and HOU 118

So obviously since I missed the 2nd half of the game, I don’t have much personal opinion to add. For anyone who watched it and wants to share something with the rest of us, feel free to leave it in the comments section! :-) Judging from the highlights and box score and twitter talk…it was a very well played game last night and of course we scored another win, so I am happy about that!! It was also nice for Yao Ming to watch and support his old team!! And Jeremy stated during his post interview that Ming didn’t add any pressure at all by watching. I heard that Jeremy got hurt but I hope he that he continued to play. I hope it’s nothing serious and that he gets some rest today since they have another game tomorrow and they are flying to Sacramento and I want him to be healthy for that game!!

TOP 5 Scorers:

1) Harden: 35 pts, 7 rbds, 11 asts

2) Parsons: 20 pts, 3 rbs, 3 asts

3) Patterson: 16 pts, 6 rbs, 1 asts

4) Lin: 16 pts, 0 rbd, 4 asts

5) Asik: 9 pts, 13 rbs, 0 ast

    I’m happy it’s a W! And it seems the team wins when everybody works/scores, yeah. They will have 3 games in CA. so Jeremy will be reunited w family and friends. (“,) I’m just thinking how hard it must be for NBA players who spend more time w their team mates on/off the road than their families.

    • ksoranna says:

      @mber…They will have a lot of fans in CA waiting for them. And I think that’s why bball players are so close with their teammates and why the team dynamics are so important b/c of their is bad vibes between players than it can bring the whole team down and affect players on the court as well.

        Hi, Ksoranna. Thanks a lot for the post, which aroused some random thoughts of mine: a. Parsons is indeed very handsome; he probably is the most handsome guy in the NBA. You can make a statue out of him–he reminds me of the Statue of David by Michelangelo. b. Whoever shot that video of Jeremy hanging from the rim really captured the playful side of him; he looks like a carefree child and the pure joy is contagious. c. A bit surprised to read that you call yourself a loner without many real life friends because reading your posts, I would just picture you as a social and outgoing lady. Anyway, you certaily are not a loner on this blog–many readers must be checking on you on a daily basis. Good luck with everything in the Year of the Sanke!

          @ashley: 1) yes Parsons is very handsome indeed…even the men notice him lol, but he’s a little too skinny for me. 2) I love seeing Jeremy’s playful side also. And is it just me or does it look like Jeremy and Beverly are pretty close now?? and 3) I am outgoing but not really social because I work alot and all my friends are married with kids, so I tend to be alone a lot, but I have grown accustomed to my own company, so it’s ok and LOL…yes a lot of Lin Ladies keep me company, even if it’s not in person. I appreciate you all!! And I hope you have a great year of the snake too!!

    @Cath, better be ready ;)
    @AnnaK, what happened there? LOL

  3. finally! a win vs a mismatched Trailblazers. off to win games so we can clinch a higher seed against Williams, Millsap, Jefferson and co.

    on another thread, it was a HOT DEBATE yesterday with how McHale played Jeremy. yep, he played only 26 minutes, didn’t play much 4Q. on one side, fans are calling for McHale’s head on a platter because of his questionable rotation of not playing his starting PG during 4Q. on the other side, fans think it was ok not to let Jer play during 4Q since the game was pretty much decided early on. personally, I think it’s ok that Jer didn’t play much yesterday since during 3Q I already deduced its a Rockets’ win. even if I don’t like McHale, I like that he plays Jer around 30+ minutes vs top teams. I even got into a mini-debate with another user. s/he is insisting that Jer may be traded next season. Me thinks if Les wants to lure a superstar 5 to Rockets, whether it’s Bynum, D12, or even P. Gasol, he will keep Jer and showcase him alongside Harden to convince that player, especially that rumor of D12 being interested in coming to the Rockets once he enters free agency next summer. plus, D12 comes to teams with which he can play with a minimum of 2 superstars. I know Les got Jeremy’s back. he will make sure our boy will be a Rockets for sometime.

    with your statement – “but since I don’t have many real life friends and I am a loner, I figured I probably shouldn’t pass up a chance at real life social interactions”, correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think you’re a loner. maybe you prefer intimate, close friendships. I myself prefer a handful of friends with genuine, quality friendships. personally, what’s the worth of having tons of friends but its either you don’t get to spend quality, real intimate time with them or worse, some are not even the friends who thought them to be? ;)

    • ksoranna says:

      @Michelle…I didn’t see the last quarter besides what was on highlight reels but a lot of coaches don’t play their starters if the game looks like it’s going to be a win. I agree with this method b/c it means the starters will get some rest and the younger, less seasoned players get a chance to showcase their skill. Why would fans want Jeremy and the other starters to be overplayed and tired?!…especially if their team is already winning?!

      and I have heard of D12 trade rumors..but not to the Rockets. I thought the Lakers were interested in him?? Either way…I doubt Jeremy is going anywhere. They would not have made such a big investment in him if they didn’t believe in his ability to carry the franchise and now that him and Harden are playing well together…I don’t see a Jeremy trade before his contract ends.

      And LOL…I work all the time and most of my close friends are married with children and my best friend lives 3 hrs away. Plus, it’s hard for me to make friends b/c even though i’m 27..I’m like a kid in a professional woman’s body and I think most people think I’m weird. It’s so much easier for me to interact and find people who think like me online. That’s probably why I have so many online friends who i’ve never met and it’s easier to express myself through writing which is probably why I have so many blogs.

      • I think those that disagree on the rotation are hardcore basketball purists who think its disrespectful when the coach is not playing his starters on 4th Q. come on, the game has been decided!let the bench play during garbage time. personally I will kill McHale if he benched Jeremy 4th Q last vs Miami game. that is crunch time.

        there are a lot of trade discussions for a 4 or 5 and D12′s name is always coming up. I think the media is overhyping it. it even got to a rumor that both Jeremy and Harden were somewhat “recruiting” Josh Smith, and his name is always actively brought up during trade discussions. if Les and Morey are indeed good, they know WHO they’ll showcase to bring a household 4/5.

        hey, Jeremy is even an oversized kid. I consider myself having that Peter Pan Syndrome.. so “kid in a professional woman’s body ” is not a bad thing. a childlike life is much better, and being a stiff adult is overrated anyway lol!

  4. ksoranna says:

    @Michelle…why the hell do those people think it’s disrespectful to rest your key starters and players?! it would be disrespectful to NOT rest them and to ignore the other players who don’t get much playing time!!

    And LOL…you are soo right…a childlike life is soo much better!!

  5. ashley says:

    Dear Ksoranna,
    Thanks for your reply. How nice of you to respond to each of your readers!
    There have been more than one sighting of Beverly hugging Jeremy at games. It was Beverly that gave Jeremy a pat on the tummy while he was hanging from the rim, right? I figure Beverly is a nice new guy on the team who likes Jeremy and wants to be friends with him. As fans of the only Asian player in the NBA, we pay attention to everything surrounding him and making all sorts of assumptions. Hopefully, Jeremy still keeps his diary and will one day publish his autobiography that reveals whatever fans are curious about that may be called post-Linsanity.

    • ksoranna says:

      @ashley…lol, well I like “talking” to my readers, so of course I usually respond :-) The Lin Lady who went to the GSW game kept commenting on how much Bev was hugging Jeremy. They must have become good friends. Because he is so new, I wonder if he sees Lin as his mentor?? And if Jeremy published his diary for everyone to read…it would be a best seller for sure!!
