(I decided to go with Fauxy’s t-shirt suggestion: “You Gotta Jeremy Lin”)
I had a super duper great weekend in Charlotte, NC!! There were a few things getting me down in my personal life, but weekends like the last one I had, are the kind that put a smile on your face again and help motivate you for the upcoming week! The best ending or should I say beginning to my week was the Rockets v. Bobcats game. I had been looking forward to this game since the beginning of NBA season!!! But due to financial constraints I had to make a responsible adult decision (sometimes I hate being a responsible adult) between paying bills/saving money or splurging on an NBA ticket. So I decided that paying bills were more important than getting to see Jeremy Lin play basketball (believe me…it took me a while to come to this rational decision because I almost decided that my groceries were not that important and that I would eat my mom’s cooking for a month if I had to).
How I Got My Ticket!!
Well thanks to an amazing Lin Lady and friend….I did not have to make that decision!! *Pause For A Second* I just want to take a moment to gush about this wonderful person. She was one of my first followers on this blog and then we became Facebook friends. We talk EVERY DAY…EVERY DAY, despite our geographic and time zone differences. We have NEVER met but when she heard about my dilemma, she took the initiative to buy a ticket for me (and took the time to make sure it was near the Rockets’ bench) and surprised me with it. I was so happy to finally hear her voice on the phone (after conversing for almost a year) and to hear her surprise for me that I was in tears!! She had help from a few other Lin Ladies and I want to thank them also.
The even more amazing thing is…she is not the the only Lin Lady who has a heart of gold. I have NEVER met any of my Lin Ladies in person, but you all are so meaningful to me between sending me gifts and sending me emails checking up on me…I feel like this bond that Jeremy created between us, is what makes this blog so different from so many other sport’s blogs. So I just wanted to thank each of you for supporting me and my Jeremy Lin addiction!!
Game Overview
Final Score: HOU 100 and CHA 94
This game was really intense to watch, especially during the 4th quarter. During the first 3 quarters, CHA was leading by sometimes 10 pts. Now I love me some Rockets but if there was one team who could beat the Rockets and I still leave with a smile on my face …that would be the Bobcats. I always have split-team personality disorder when I’m watching them play live. And I was so happy that Kemba Walker had his career high of 35pts in this game and I know it was a tough loss. So basically by the end of the evening…I cheered whenever someone made a basket, whether they were Rockets or Bobcats. My only disappointment of the night was Lin not playing well and I wonder if he was more hurt during his fall in the 1st quarter, than he showed, because McHale benched him most of the 2nd and 4th quarter. Also he wasn’t smiling when he walked back to the locker rooms…even after the win.
Side note: I always thought that the Rockets were a good looking team…but DAMN are they a good looking team!! Jeremy is just as good looking in person as he is in the pics and his arms are super defined. Like I don’t think pics do them justice. Like he has arms that beg you to just grease them all day. Like…seriously. Chandler is still a cutie pie but he is too skinny in my opinion. I tired to catch some bromance shots, but I think they are on to us because they usually weren’t benched at the same time and if they were, they sat one seat apart from each other. Though in the 4th quarter they did sit next to each other and I saw them whispering and giggling to themselves 
And I think I have developed another crush…on Delfino. This man is smoldering!! Like he needs to be a model with his looks! I always thought that Morris was cute…and he looks even cuter in person….and those lips…ugh! So basically…I just want to be locked up in the Rockets’ locker room. Someone please…make this happen for me…please…

I think it was funny at 0:48 where the guy said that “we” all came out for Lin. Well I guess he wasn’t all wrong since my t-shirt was blaring about my JLin love and the Asian family in front of me also had their Jeremy Lin t-shirts on lol.
CP is so cute at 0:13 when he was hanging off of the rim!
That was how close my seats were!!
Parsons scored but later Lin was going in for a basket when he was easily blocked by a Bobcats player.
At least he made his free throws. Overall, just not a very productive game for Lin, but we all have our up days and down days.
Ugh…I hate how my voice sounds on video and I think it’s hilarious how everyone is calling for Jeremy but he ignores everyone…including me

LMAO…I’m laughing at myself. I am calling out all their names like I know them LOL. I did get a hand tap from Morris though! And yes, I had to turn the video off so that I could began to freak out and tell everyone around me, who would listen, that he almost touched my hand. Yes…I was that annoying fan that no one wants to sit next to LOL.
Like his fingers almost greeted mine…his hands reached out for a second for my outstretched hands…and I couldn’t breath. I was freaking shaking, I could barely type to the other Lin Ladies about the amazing thing that didn’t happen…but was supposed to.
This is what I want to do to Jeremy Lin!! Why won’t he let me?! Why couldn’t he look at me or just reach out 2 inches more?! Just 2 inches more!!! That’s all I freaking ask!! I’ve waited for over a year and I can’t even get a hand tap!!

I too was deciding between being a responsible adult or splurging on the NBA ticket, but since I am (unfortunately) nowhere near responsible (just yet haha), and since the Rockets are coming to Brooklyn near my birthday, I thought I’d treat myself lol. I’m so glad that you really enjoyed yourself, and I love the T-Shirt you wore. I was going to wear his Rockets jersey, but I’m scared the crowd might boo me for supporting the opposing team haha. Now you have me excited for when I go see him lol.

I was so enthusiastic about the Rockets and Jeremy Lin, and fangirling by myself that after a while they were talking to me about the other Rockets’ players and everything. Plus, since we are females, no one is going to spout hate about Jeremy or the Rockets in our faces, so u don’t have to worry about that. And get decent seats… preferably near the Rockets…believe me it’s worth it!!

Let’s forget about Tyson. He was Jeremy’s friend but his friendship severed upon Jeremy’s departure, Jeremy had not known that until he knew Tyson criticized him. Tyson may not be a bad guy but he is limited. This reminds me of David Lee who is a star Warrior but became Jeremy’s friend when Jeremy was a rookie in that team, and has cared him all the way. He and his girlfriend even flew to NY to meet Jeremy before Linsanity during the lock-out. When Jeremy got that win in NY on Dec 17 David Lee retweeted Jeremy’s words about returning to MSG. He is a real friend and he just looks kind and decent. Landry is a real friend too. Those who became good friends of Jeremy before Linsanity are real friends who want to make friend with Jeremy because they like him but not because of his fame. BTW I am surprised David Lee and his team play so well this season that he may become an All-Star reserve. He and Stephen Curry (another Warrior being Jeremy’s friend) beat Griffin + Paul last game.

speaking of Morris, I was at the office watching a Phoenix Suns game, and all of a sudden, this very much-Morris look alike subbed in for Suns. I kinda panicked and stood up to run to the nearest “dirty” (no website blocks) PC to research, thinking what the hell just happened that Morris got traded to Suns? was he a “collateral damage” also for Scola (former Rocket PF now playing for Suns)? turns out that was his twin Markieff.
wow…I just googled Morris’ twin!! I had no idea that he had a twin!! That’s crazy! Now I want to watch them play a game against each other…must be quite interesting to watch twins play at the same time for different teams.

@christina…my awesome seats were all thanks to a fellow Lin Lady! And yes, I was fangirling by MYSELF so I think it was more tolerable to the other fans. But I have always dreamed of going to a game where there were other Lin Fangirls so that we could all cheer together for him… I hope that dream comes true one day!! Let them glare, who cares LOL!!
K, YOU ARE SUPER SUPER AMAZING!!! If Jeremy played well in that game he would be happy to stretch his hand some more inches to reach yours! But he was so despondent that he,after the game, had to refer to the Bible and find that verse “Be still and know that I am God” to solace his feeling. He has experienced too many ups and downs and I think he couldn’t believe he could play well against Spurs, Lakers, Grizzlies, Bulls, Knicks, Hawks but he could not play well against Bobcats. Like some columnist said: “Frequent benchings. A minimum of consideration when it comes to ball-handling duties. Few plays designed for him.” This is what Jeremy has been facing as a Rocket, not what he was told before signing the contract.

But it’s indeed an exciting experience to be there watching him play. Like some attending the packed Linsanity movie premiere said they love Jeremy the person more than his play, and they always feel that strong connection with Jeremy that they care everything about him. I wish Jeremy to know that people love him are not only fans, and I wish him to make progress and deliver good play all the time so he will become more comfortable to interact with those he doesn’t know but love him so much. Jeremy really did look sad, as you can see from the videos of him leaving and entering the arena…he didn’t smile, he wasn’t playing around with his teammates, etc. He didn’t even look happy that his team had won the game!! I know he really feels bad every time he doesn’t play well on the court. I hope he realizes that his fans support him either way…and that we think he is great no matter what!! And yes, hopefully next time I see him, he is more happy and he will tap my hand and smile at me and hopefully I won’t pass out if that happens lol.

In another Jeremy fan site (http://www.jeremylin.net/2013/01/rockets-bobcats-game-43-game-thread.html#comment-form), a contributor (jp2123) also went to the game, and provided a very detailed report, but a heart-breaking / frustrating one to us Lin fans. Per his observation, Jeremy looks unhappy and frustrated with this team and the coaches. I hope you can all read it to understand how he is going through right now.
I hope we all pray hard for Jeremy, and wish him overcome all the obstacles in front of him.
Many have commented that Jeremy so far has not played his exciting alley-oop with any of his teammates in this season. That’s because except Harden, none of his teammate has the capability to do that with Jeremy, and Jeremy and Harden never got a chance to do that because Harden has major ball possession and attacks by himself most time. There have already had too many articles talking about Houston has wrongly used Jeremy and forced him to play the way he has never been trained to do because of Harden’s participation. For Houston, they need to secure the 80M investment more than the 25M. If that’s God’s plan for Jeremy, just don’t know what’s the plan all about!
LOL…@hyca, you must have been praying and wishing hard for me because it came true!!! Even I didn’t believe it because I didn’t think I was going to be able to go and then God answered my prayers via another Lin Lady!!
Jeremy is very frustrated, you can see it clearly on his face and even though he tries to hide his emotions, I don’t think he does it very well. I always wish the best for Jeremy and I know he will overcome these obstacles, like he always does!!

watching the few games that i can, i see that harden has the ball way too much and shoots WAY too much. sometimes, i see players that are WIDE OPEN, and harden still just throws up the ball. something needs to be done about that, and while watching the game yesterday, even the houston announcers were saying the rockets are trying to tell harden to pass the ball more, because he has the habit of holding and shooting the ball. in order for the team to win games, other players need to shoot and handle the ball as well. harden can’t keep shooting the ball, especially if he has bad nights.
@christina…I have observed this as well!! But I think in this case, the coaches are telling everyone to let Harden do most of the shooting.Even though Harden still outscored everyone, it was only because he took the most shots, not because he played the best yesterday. I Morris and Delfino played much better than Harden. And I was very upset for Jeremy because he ddnt play well yesterday and I knew that he would be frustrated with himself…but he was benched for like most of the 1st half and 2nd half!!! He wasn’t even on the court that much and I don’t know why, but I am sure Jeremy took it very personal also and I’m sure it upset him which will in turn, affect how he plays!
It’s said Jeremy becomes a Rocket because the boss Leslie wanted the GM Morey to get him. Some doubt that Morey doesn’t want to see Jeremy flourish to prove Leslie right. And Morey has taken advice from some coach to diminish the PG role as they want every player to pick up the ball and score when he can. Who is the best who gets the ball most (Harden). This sounds ridiculous to me. Jeremy didn’t play well because he is doing what he has never been trained to do, and that directly affects his jump shot efficiency when he tries to get in that system. If a team does not need a PG or everyone can play the PG, then a company does not need any GM, and Morey wouldn’t even exist in the club. If this is the logic, then we wouldn’t see Paul, Rose, Westbrook, Nash, Rondo, Wade etc. flourish in the league.

Hey Cath!!! And yes…I got questions about what it meant and I got a lot of stares/glares lol. Especially when I was jumping up and down for Jeremy and everyone around me (besides the other Lin family) were Bobcat fans. And yes…bring a nice camera…it will be worth it. Honestly if I wouldn’t have relied on my phone camera (which i thought was decent but I guess not) I would have had so many great pics b/c I was so close. I missed out on so many good shots of Jeremy and his teammates.

The Rockets will be on the road this weekend. if they have a home game this weekend it’d be awesome. I want to see him play in Houston. I guess it meant to be that way

I am super late on this. I was taking a break from basketball, but it’s good to see the rockets on another streak!
And I’m so glad you made it to the game! With such awesome seats too! I was actually debating whether I should go watch the game against golden state soon. But now seeing your report I want to go! Especially since its the first time he’s back at oracle stadium since linsanity haha. And delfino live sounds awesome! I always thought he was very attractive
@Turtlek, welcome back!! You should definitely make it to their game against Golden State if you have the money to spare because I think it would be worth it. Nothing like being in the arena with the rest of the shouting fans plus he will be playing against his former teammates, which is always exciting to watch!! And Delfino is OMG…*swoon*!!
