Knicks v. Houston…and Houston defeats them AGAIN!! (Pics and ALL video highlights from game!)

FINAL SCORE: Knicks with 96 and Rockets with 109!!!

Ok…so another game that I had to miss because of other obligations :-( But I am so happy to come home to see a win on the scoreboard!! And despite all the shit talk going down…how ironic is it that the Rockets were the ones to end the Knicks home town winning streak!! Jeremy also played very well tonight and had 22 pts, 4 rbds, 8 assists….showing that his return to MSG was not going to be one of failure, for the NY media and fans to find another reason to support the controversial reason of letting him go. I am sure the return to MSG was bittersweet for him. Can you imagine looking out into that sold out crowd and realizing that they will not be cheering for every basket you put in or for every assist or free throw you make? You are no longer their hero or the savior of their team. Of course, Jeremy publicly broadcasted only positive thoughts and love for all the fans who came out to MSG…regardless of whether or not they came to cheer him on.

The articles I read mentioned that he was greeted with cheers and even a standing ovation when his name was called out!! Regardless of the team trades, I think it is very hard for even a Knicks fan to deny how much Jeremy Lin had meant to them at one point…no matter how brief his season with the Knicks was. By some of the pics…you can tell that his old teammates still had a lot of love for him.

Looks like Jeremy and Stat had a nice conversation that left smiles on both faces.

Look at how much Tyson towers over Lin!! And Tyson’s hand on Jeremy’s lower back…umm *clears throat* looks like a scene for the Truly, Madly, Deeply fan fiction.

I seriously don’t know who is cuter…Jeremy signing the kid’s shirt or the kid lol!! I love how he is wearing Jeremy’s old jersey number with the Harden beard!!

I wonder how many other fans wore Jeremy’s old jerseys and t-shirts to show their support!

YAY for a WIN!! Now I will definitely have a smile on my face before bed!!

  1. Penny says:

great win for the team and especially Lin…i love how they booed him than cheer after he made the basket hahaha…i’m glad to see they had a warm welcome for him when he was introduced…and i saw a few people had his jersey on, which was nice to see…overall a great game for him and the Rockets…he didn’t play “turrible” tonight hahaha i love Barkley’s pronunciation of the word terrible

    • ksoranna says:

@Penny…yea I think a lot of the fans had split team personality tonight lol!! And rightfully so!! I’m sure even the ones that boo’d were secretly cheering him on. Either way…unless you were a die hard Knicks fan and a Lin hater, most people were probably happy to see him and to see him play well tonight!

      • mber says:

        BabyLin won’t be tamed LOL!

Dont piss him off Tyson…and dont even try to say that you went straight up

        • ksoranna says:

OMG….BabyLin has nerves of steel!! I love how he is not censoring himself!! I think he is saying what everyone is thinking but what Jeremy CANNOT say!

  2. mber says:

A lot of peeps in the arena needing mental health counselling after that — booing JLin then cheering hahaha tough to be a Knicks fan! I’m happy we got a glimpse of how JHarden and Jer can work together — everyone scores and it’s a W =] No more trade talks please, gotta make the Rockets work. They all have great potential!

    • ksoranna says:

@mber…LOL about the “mental health counselling”…haha!! I don’t blame them. I will have split team personality disorder when they come play the Charlotte Bobcats as well!! And yes…Harden and Lin CAN play together…they just need more opportunity and time to show it. They are still a young team!!! So hopefully no more trade talks!

      • mber says:

Anna: JLin misses *jeers*! JLin scores *cheers* !! Knicks fans wearing his #17 jersey. The warm applause at the player introduction. The boos at his first basket. Oh well, it’s still better to be LINsane than plain old insane =]
        Highlights! http://bit.ly/TXwZjo

    • Cath says:

      Hi everyone!

Actually, there is an explanation for that @mber. According to a die hard knick fan, they boo him because he is doing well and they cheer him on when he’s doing bad. When Jeremy is playing “turrible” it’s a plus for the Knicks.

Here is another link you can read and enjoy: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nba-ball-dont-lie/jeremy-lin-stars-return-madison-square-garden-rockets-034708197–nba.html

I can’t wait to watch him play here in Bay Area, someone on that yahoo board said that the SF Bay Area are pulling for him with ‘favorite son’ status and fan favorite for his genuine humility.

  3. ic says:

Too happy to write anything now. Will be busy in reading all the articles about Jeremy Lin and his game vs Knicks! Will watch the re-broadcast game tonight!

    • ksoranna says:

@ic…I know the feeling!! I missed the game but kept up with the scores and I was very happy they came out with a win!! If you find a full game video link…will you please send it to me? I would love to watch this game, even more so that I know they won!

      • ic says:

K, thanks for ur wonderful post. We always have live relay of Jeremy’s game here in Taiwan. Not sure if I can find a full game link. Will do my best! :-)

        • ic says:

Hi K, sorry I could not find any link to show the full game vs Knicks (but I did watch the rebroadcast game on TV :-) ) . I was told it’s unlikely there is one because that will require a royalties payment which is expensive. So there is always highlights of game posted by people. Sina.com China always provide full game on their web but people outside China cannot access that. :-(

  4. Rubielyn says:

    Sooooooo happy for JLin!!! ;)
Thank you Lord God for the WIN! ;)

    • ksoranna says:

@Rubielyn…I am happy for the WIN, I am happy that Jeremy played well, and I am happy that he was not greeted with too much hate at MSG.,,,the last part is what worried me the most tbh!

  5. christina says:

i went to the game tonight! it was pretty freaking amazing, even more better that he had SUCH an awesome game too. next time, i’ve got to get better seats though, lol. pictures came out really bad, lol. i could see the plays pretty well, but not the faces. the booing was expected, but wow, those boos during the flagrant was unexpected. our section was mostly jeremy fans though, lol. we cheered for him when he got his baskets in. i had an awesome time, i’m hoping to go to more of his games in the future :)

    • ksoranna says:

@christina…OMG!!!! I am sooo freaking jealous of you right now!! I’m like getting excited just reading your comment!! You lucky girl!! I bet the energy and crowd was indescribable! How far away were your seats?? I am so glad a Lin Lady got to go to the game and cheer Jeremy on in person!!

      • christina says:

we sat in the third tier, which is the last tier, and probably 3 or 4 rows away from the last row of the garden? lol, if you’ve even been to msg, i think you’ll know what i’m trying to say? lol. but yea, we were pretty far away, but luckily, since msg isn’t that big, the seats didn’t really feel that bad. i saw the chandler/jeremy handshake, lol. i could make it out basically, lol. that was pretty neat. got there pretty early, watched them warm up and everything. the crowd was REALLY loud when the knicks were catching up, but LOL, when the rockets were up by 20, it was deathly quiet. it was kinda funny, our section was clapping and everything when the rockets, especially jeremy got his baskets in. i don’t think we got any dirty looks though, didn’t feel it anyway, too busy enjoying the game and watching our baby kick ass. like i said though, gotta get a bit better seats next time, so i could make out his face, lol.

        • ksoranna says:

so basically both you and hyca were in the nose bleed sections lol?? I wonder if you two sat near each other and didnt even realize you were fellow Lin Ladies?? im sure the seats were expensive and the front rows were sold out quick…so you were lucky to get the seats u did!

    • hyca7316 says:

I was in MSG, too. Same as christina, my seat is pretty way back.

But I went to the front rows when they are doing shootout before the game, and lifted a poster showing “Lin: play ur game & have fun” to Lin and Rockets players. I just wished he played his style of game w/o any pressure. I hope he saw it.

I’m soooooooo excited to have witnessed such a great moment. Very happy for Lin, hopefully, the coaching staff now see what Lin can do when he is THE floor general, and NOT bench him at crucial time ANY MORE.

      • ksoranna says:

@hyca…i remember you saying that you really wanted to go to this game…so I am glad that you were able to make it happen!! I remember you were so worried for him…and look how wonderful the evening turned out for him, his team, and all his fans! Did Jeremy look over to where u were with the poster when they were doing the shoot around??

  6. maxymacy says:

I really wish I saw the game live. I rushed home right after my Finals from college and watched the whole game! It was amazing! gotta love the fans, the game was emotional because it was Lin’s comeback to the place it all happened and instead of cheers he got booed. But like many mentioned and I thought it was only me but lol the fans booed him and cheered for him, it was loud enough to hear. idk after the game I was left emotional, and i really don’t know why, maybe i miss the atmosphere of MSG? but any how, Lin had a really good game tonight and he was having fun. i’ve been waiting for that, it’s been a long time since i’ve seen him smile and actually have fun on the court. I can now safely say that Lin and Harden can coexist only if they play together like tonight, because wow they’re dangerous when they play like that. Also this game alone was just really really interesting, youngest vs. oldest, two best 3 pt shooting teams, best and worst TO teams, i mean it’s crazy but the youngest and oldest really somehow entertained me? It was fun to watch the youngsters serve up the old guys. I really wished the Rox had blown them out again, but I’ll settle with a 13 blowout? But one thing about it is that this game again like the ‘ole days did generate a lot of great plays from Lin. But that picture/gif you have at the top top of the post how Lin still runs NYC is funny and very interesting. It’s funny how a lot of folks in NYC we’re like oh we’re over it and now it’s all about knicks because we’re the best and felton is a better fit and etc etc, but the moment/days before Lin steps foot onto NYC, it’s all Linsanity all over, IMO. I mean I’m concluding this from the way the fans embraced him in the beginning and cheered and booed him and all of those articles written about his return. I guess Lin still runs NYC from Houston? lol but idk if anyone has ever thought this but what if after Lin’s 3 year with Houston, he comes out a veteran and NY offers him a contract and Lin returns back to NYC? I have this theory that NYK sent him out to develop because they know Lin has tons of potential and don’t him while he’s developing but will take him back when he’s ready to lead a team? lol Idk am I going crazy? But i do have this feeling that this may be it if Lin’s every return to MSG is like this, because it’s obvious the fans love and respect him. idk I’m just too happy in this moment, lol sorry for the long rant but this game really made me realize how talented Lin is and how his haters for a day stopped their criticism? nonetheless I’m so happy right now, i’m grinning like an idiot. Need to see Lin live one day!!!

    • maxymacy says:

I have to add, I think Knicks are doing great right now, Rockets are doing good, I see a lot of potential from them. If they keep playing like this, I see them being like OKC, both teams are amazing and i think tonight, everyone just had fun, to an extent, and left all the comparisons and what not behind and just play. the magic of linsanity!

    • standupphilosopher says:

Great points about the dichotomy between the two teams. I would also add that the team with one of the worst road records defeated an undefeated team at home. Knicks 0 -2 vs. Rockets and 18 – 4 vs. the rest of the NBA. Linsane stuff!

      • ksoranna says:

@standupphilosopher…that is very true!! what are the odds right?! very Linsane haha!!

      • maxymacy says:

omg! i read your blog after every game!!! and yes I agree I’m as much surprise that the Rox can beat them that bad, but one thing for sure we know is that the Knicks def do not want to meet the Rox in playoffs! ;)

        • standupphilosopher says:

Wow! Thanks, maxymacy! Yeah, Knicks would, to borrow a phrase from a Rockets play by play announcer, “poop their big boy pants” if they face the Rox in the playoffs. Although they’ll be much better with Shump, their best perimeter defender, back in the line up by then.

    • ksoranna says:

@maxymacy….i LOVED your rant lol!! I didnt even get to see the live game…but just reading articles and watching game highlights made me grin ear to ear!! and seeing pics that came out today…jeremy was smiling even when he was on the bench lol!! first off…i agree with your comparison between the rockets and the knicks…with jeremy lin as the common denominator. i also think you touched on a good point about how NYC is still Linsane for him…it’s so obvious. and you know what…i think NYC has a special place in jeremy’s heart that houston or another city he switches to, will never have. and i think that was obvious last night!! the NY fans also still have a soft spot in their hearts for him. seeing all those Knicks #17 jerseys and tshirts…just kinda had this surreal effect on me. like he is the favorite…he was able to capture the fans and the game in a way that Melo and Stat and Tyson…never could. and who knows…one day maybe NY will ask him back and I would not be surprised if Jeremy said yes!! :-)

      • maxymacy says:

Yes exactly but i hope the Rox fans don’t hold anything against him because it’s now obvious that the NY fans love him and MSG fits him perfectly. i think McHale said he looked to be more comfortable playing there than anywhere else. ANd honestly I hate to say it but I really do hope that after 3 years here there in Houston, NY offers him, I’m sure Lin wouldn’t even think about it, it’s an automatic. he has done something that Tyson and melo can’t do although they’re obvious amazing players but like you said, NYC fans will just always keep him in their hearts. I remember reading an article, it was something like if NY doesn’t win a title this year, Linsanity will forever live on? I found this really interesting, I honestly think NY has a really good shot at a title this year, but man they do live or die by the 3 which worries me, Rox do too and idk. But i have this feeling that as young as the Rox may be, they might be in playoffs this year and maybe really surprise a lot of us. I’m excited! and and even though I live wayyy in the West Coast i felt like it was Linsanity all over again in NY :D

  7. standupphilosopher says:

I missed the entire game also. Thanks for the videos and reactions! Big psychological win for Lin. Hopefully, he can build on this and hope the coaching staff gives Lin more freedom to be aggressive and gives him the confidence that he can make mistakes. From looking at the highlights, Lin had “the look” tonight. And from his interview, he says that he just went out there and just played and had fun. Lin had the most amount of joy and peace in his post game interview tonight. More than I’ve seen from him all year. Hopefully this gives him the confidence he needs to just tune everything out and just play his game–even within the constraints that the coaching staff has put on him.

    • ksoranna says:

@standupphilospher…you are soo welcome!! Glad I wasnt the only one who missed the game…sometimes i actually feel guilty for having a real life lol. Jeremy always says that he plays for God…but that is very hard to do when there is still pressure from the media, the fans, the coaches, etc…but last night, I think he really just played from his heart. I need him to do that more often!! Hopefully this game will continue to build the confidence that he seems to be lacking sometimes and hopefully it shows the coaches that they can give Jeremy more freedom to throw the ball and to just play “fun” basketball again!!

  8. isabelijane says:

so Jason Kidd, tell me.. how do you feel that you’re not mentoring your “successor” once you retire? how do you feel that your “successor” just lead his team and crushed your team of veterans?

    • ksoranna says:

LOL…if only you could actually interview the players and ask them this!!

      • isabelijane says:

I would. I watched a recording of the game. damn it I could see from Jason Kidd’s facial expression that he is sort of doing a mental mentorship to Jeremy, “no, don’t! kick it out to Harden!”… “drive it to the baseline kid!”…”there! you can draw a foul there! yes!”

  9. GiaKiem says:

Jeremy, all you did were having fun playing the game that you love. But to us, you’re giving us the love that we’ve never experienced before . Thanks K for all the pics and videos ! saved me a lot of time looking for them ..heheheh ..I can rewatch them over and over again .

  10. KS says:

Right after the final buzzer rang, Steve Novak ran to Lin and hug him! so sweet of him!

  11. Turtlek says:

After this game more and more of my good feelings towards Tyson chandler is gone. When he hugged Jeremy at the end Jeremy didn’t look that into it, unlike his hug with Novak a second before. Also I didn’t know this but Jeremy unfollowed Tyson?? :O

I guess friends can turn to un-friends quite easily…..

    • ksoranna says:

@turtlek…well it’s hard to tell something from a hug. but he unfollowed Tyson…now that may mean something. I don’t have twitter but if i unfriend someone on facebook…it usually means we are not longer “cool” like that…

    • mber says:

That is sad. But I guess Tyson’s snarky comments + disturbing fouls on Jer snowballed and now this. He is diplomatic but apparently ‘cuts’ quietly.

  12. christina says:

i think out of all his friendships that he kept intact with the knicks is probably novak, jeffries and landry. we all knew that he and carmelo didn’t get along because carmelo was being a big baby. i don’t know about tyson though…maybe they were just friends because they were on the same team? i think you can tell who he’s still friends with based on pregame warm ups too, he spent time talking with novak and there’s pictures of him and jeffries too, so i assume they’re all still good friends, or at least the catch up kind of friends.

    • maxymacy says:

I think so too, but he seems to be still close to Amare, he hasn’t unfollowed him on twitter yet, lol! But I do think even if Lin likes/dislikes Carmelo, he still respects him. One person that i think Lin really dislike is maybe JR, i just don’t idk haha

      • Rubielyn says:

Yes, he is still a follower of Amare and Shump and even Baron Davis.
I don’t blame JLin for not liking JR Smith because I find JR the exact opposite of a humble man.
        My own observation.

        • maxymacy says:

Lol yeah JR rubs me the wrong way too, yeah I doubt Lin wants to be BFF’s with him

        • Rubielyn says:

Same here. He is even friends with Josh Harrellson and Jerome Jordan but not with JR.
i remember him replying a tweet where JR’s in it but I think it’s because Josh H was there and JLin was still a knick then.

  13. Cath says:

A funny video of the Rockets team singing Dreidel, Dreidel, Dreidel. Honestly, it made me look up what a “dreidel” is LOL. We actually have a dreidel at home but didn’t know what it was called. http://www.nba.com/rockets/video/2012/12/10/Dreidel2012mov-2321485

  14. Cath says:

Jeremy took 25 disadvantaged kids to Toys R Us for a shopping spree. Seriously, how can anyone not love this guy! http://newsfixnow.com/2012/12/21/youve-heard-of-linsanity-but-have-you-heard-of-lin-santa-ty/

If I don’t get back before or on the 25th, here’s wishing you all a wonderful holiday field with love and laughter and of course good food!

    • ksoranna says:

aww thanks for the video and pic links!! We’ve both been so busy this holiday season that our Linsanity has been pushed to the side to make room for RL. It was probably the intervention I needed, lol! I had a great Christmas and I hope you did too!!
