Three quick things before bed…

Hello fellow Lin Babies:

I just wanted to make a note of 3 quick things before I head off to bed…

#1) Thanks to ic for providing us with Jeremy’s schedule in Asia. For anyone who hasn’t read ic’s comments, here they are:

“Jeremy will arrive in Taipei on August 4 and stay for 2 days. This is for “Nike Jeremy Lin Tour” only. He will have a press conference on August 5, then will leave for China. Jeremy will return to Taipei on August 26 and hold a basketball Summer camp from August 27 thru 30. On September 1 he will have a Volvo & Jeremy Lin Brand Tour, and on September 2 Jeremy is going to have a Christian testimony “Jeremy’s Miracal Night”. After that he will return to Houston for training and prepare for the new season….Jeremy’s early August trip in Taipei is extended to cover the weekend when he will meet fans in “Nike Summer Night” and play as the coach to a guard training camp. David Lee of Warriors will join Jeremy in his late August trip in Taipei for the basketball summer camp for kids. Jeremy’s early August trip is regarded as a private trip so his flight etc is not disclosed though he will have public activities. He may spend time with his grandmom who took care of him in Cal. when Jeremy was a little kid.”

News articles reflect the same thing ic is saying but I would rather promote ic’s comments over other news articles, but here are some in case you want to read them. I know ic, cece, and J (and I’m sure I have a few other readers from that area) are all located in Taiwan and Hong Kong…so hopefully you can continue to bring us up to date news info on Jeremy’s activities over in Asia. Thanks in advance!!

#2) It looks like Jeremy will be celebrating his 24th birthday, which is on August 23 (I know you all already knew that :-) ), in Asia. His schedule is so jammed packed, I hope he gets some time to himself to enjoy it. Social media is buzzing with what fans are putting together for his birthday. I don’t know if I’m doing anything for it…I stay so busy with my two jobs and I don’t know if it’s worth the effort to do something, especially if I don’t think he will even see it. You all might change my minds though…what do you think??

#3) Jeremy will be returning to MSG on December 17th. The game will be epic…and I’m sure one of the top 10 most watched games of the season. One of my readers, hyca7316 had an interesting idea. Here is her comment in case you didn’t see it: ”I am looking for anyone or any group who is organizing to go to MSG on 12/17 to cheer for Lin. If there is, please share the info here. I would love to be a part of it. Thanks.”

First of all…do I have any readers in the NYC area who could play host/hostess, show us around, etc?? And is anyone else interested in going to MSG on December 17th (which falls on a Monday)??? If so, please share your comments below and we could definitely try to get a group together…maybe spend that weekend in NYC. I honestly think it will be an adventure, with lots of fun, basketball and Jeremy involved, plus I would love to meet some of my readers and fellow Jeremy fans!!!

And I actually worked all night on a spazzy fangirl post, titled “Jeremy Lin Fangirl Problems” but the graphics/word art would not post properly in WordPress. :-( I was soo frustrated and disappointed to not be able to share it with you all. I am going to see how I can make it “wordpress friendly” or I may just do them over on another site and post them on here. So… that’s why you all got stuck with this bone dry post tonight LOL.

Goodnight from NC!!

K, there was a typhoon on Wednesday and Thursday in Taiwan. The weather is OK by now. I’ll be watching news here in Taipei on Saturday when Jeremy arrives. His trip this time is for endorsement activities so I guess he does not want to make things too showy. However, VOLVO will have a fleet to pick him up in the airport. They prepare Jeremy’s favorite stuff in the car, such as hand made candies, beverage, gospel songs CDs, etc. Saturday night, Jemery will have Nike endorsement activity and meet fans and teach kids play basketball on the street. On Sunday he will have a press conference. This is a short trip and then he will go to China. By August 26 when he returns to Taipei it will be a big show. Will keep you girls advised.

  2. ic says:

By the way, Jeremy’s Sunday press conference will be held in the area where I live. It’s where Taipei 101, the tallest building in the world before Dubai Tower was built, locates. I am not sure the positive location he will have the press conference, hopefully I will be able to get a news video as soon as possible after the conference.

  3. ic says:

The following picture is of VOLVO cars (types of S60、S80、and XC60) that will pick Jeremy up in the airport on Saturday.

  4. ic says:

    Jeremy releases his latest video:

And he tweets that he is now off to Asia and (in Chinese) “I am happey to meet you all again”.

  5. cece says:

The sudden notice of my name mentioned above makes me laugh out loudly. I must be the worst reader to come here till now.

Anyway, Jeremy is on the way to Taiwan. Just couple hours ago, he post his latest video, and said he was off to Asia. The video is so great, and you must see. Within short, I am happy to see dear Jeremy show out in Taiwan. Shout out with me!

  6. ic says:

K, local CTITV will have a live broadcast at 5:00a.m. Taipei time on Saturday when Jeremy arrives. It’s 6:00p.m.Friday east coast time. You may go to http://www.CTITV.com.tw to watch the live broadcast though you don’t know mandarin. Since Jeremy will have busy schedule there will be a lot news about him. I’ll do my best to work on the report.

  7. hyca7316 says:

    Hi, K:
Thanks for asking around about going to MSG on December 17th.
I live in NJ, and will definitely love to join the group / people who will go cheering for Lin.
No one can predict how the viewers in the court on that day will react.
So I think we need to show up and support him as much as we can.
    Thanks again.

  8. ic says:

Here is the video of Jeremy’s arriving in Taipei. Jeremy enjoyed privilege of fast pass that he did not have to go through customs. When knowing that many fans were waiting for in the airport lobby but unable to see him, Jeremy made a video in the airport VIP room saying sorry and expecting to meet fans tonight 6:30 in Nike Summer NIght. http://www.tvbs.com.tw/NEWS/NEWS_LIST.asp?no=jimmyliu220120804062108

  9. ic says:

side news: Landry Fields will come to Taipei with Heats Udonis Haslem and Gary Payton on August 25 for NBA 3X。They will stay for 2 days only. Jeremy will return to Taipei on August 26, hopefully there will be a reunion of Jeremy and Landry.

  10. ic says:

During the flight, Jeremy signed his name on the wall in the first class cabin: The stewardesses serving the first class said Jeremy was shy and nice, just like a next door big boy.

  11. J says:

Super cray fans in Taiwan! I can imagine myself being one of them!
Jeremy looks really shy and overwhelmed! LOL so cute!

Appearance of Jeremy starts from 4:40, his parents and little brother got there first, and all got the screams too! haha

You ladies saved me from a lot of searching and basically did my next blog post for me lol. Having readers and supporters as fun, intelligent, and resourceful as you three (and everyone else) makes doing this blog so worth the time and effort!!

    NBA Special: Jeremy Lin Marathon

NBA TV continues its Jeremy Lin marathon Sunday with six consecutive games from 6:30 a.m.-7:00 p.m. ET.

  15. ic says:

The following is a video of the last few minutes of Jeremy’s press conference. He was asked to speak some Chinese, he was a little shy and said “Thank you for watching my games and buying my jerseys. Thank you!”

When being asked if he will meet Landry in Taipei, Jeremy said he won’t be able to see Landry in Taipei but will see him in America. The press conference involved a lot translation, though Jeremy seemed to have no problem to understand questions in Chinese, his answers were translated. I recorded a longer one but did a poor audio recording, worse than the above short one. I choose not to give link of this one. But in this one, he said above message to Landry.

  16. ic says:

There is always stupid journalist bothering Jeremy with stupid question that is he Taiwanese, Chinese or American. Jeremy gave wise answer, Hope this is not going to happen again!

    • cece says:

Don’t blame to the journalist. She’s from Xinhua News, a China news group. They always put political issue into. Taiwan media was gossip instead, seems to be the happiest media groups with Jeremy’s visit, though they are not professional at Jeremy’s basket aspiration at all. LOL

      • cece says:

Correction: The journalist who asked the stupid question is from The Wallstreet Journal. She had a report after press conference: http://blogs.wsj.com/chinarealtime/2012/08/06/friendly-court-jeremy-lin-in-taiwan/

      • ic says:

The journalist Jenny Hsu was stupid to add in her article that Jeremy eluded to answer her original question. Jeremy did give the answer that we all know his background, that is there is no need to argue his origin and his nationality, he is an American, a Taiwanese -Chinese desendant. But this stupid Jenny just didn’t understand and wanted to push an answer out like: I am XXXXX. It seems she just wants to stir up controversy — eagers for the fray!

      • Turtlek says:

I agree…. Its not an easy thing to answer, and I don’t think he wants to piss off his fans anywhere haha

  17. ic says:

Finally find something about Spike Lee’s opinion on Jeremy’s leaving Knicks.
    http://jeremylinrookiecard.com/3890/spike-lee-says-that-history-will-judge-jeremy-lin-and-knicks/

He surely is not happy to see that Jeremy is no longer a Knick, but whom to blame? Lee said history will tell who made the wrong move. I hope he fully understands that Jeremy had no choice but to leave. I always believe Knicks did not really want to keep him, and I had had that impression when the season ended. Even when the dinner with Woodson in Beverly Hills, I felt that’s a knid of gesture Knicks wanted Woodson to make, and Woodson apparently did not know what Dolan was thinking. Who made the wrong move? Jeremy said in his press conference that that was God’s will to let him go to Houston.

    • hyca7316 says:

Here is another article of Lee on JLin:

      http://www.nytimes.com/2012/08/04/nyregion/spike-lee-to-stick-with-his-knicks.html?pagewanted=all

He said, when JLin returns to the Garden as a Houston Rocket: “He might get whacked.” “Not personal. Just basketball.”

      • ksoranna says:

yea right it’s “not personal”. when it comes to Jeremy Lin, things are more than “just basketball”. Fans feel like he personally stabbed the Knicks and the fans in the back…so I am sure they will make sure he knows their anger towards him. Let’s just say I would not be surprised if the posters in the stands will be just as hateful as they were loving, last season.

      • cece says:

I was expecting Spike to say something before Jeremy’s signing Rockets, with the hope that he could persuade Dolan to keep Lin. Disappointed that he did ‘nothing’. Then, when I noticed Spike’s atitude of the words and found out maybe he just loved ‘Linsanity’ more than the person Jeremy Lin himself. He is still a die hard Knicks fan, not Jeremy’s fan. I turned my favorite of him into disdaining. Don’t tell me I’m too moody. Just don’t like him anymore.

      • cavettij says:

        hyca,
the next time you’re in the City, you might stop by the “Hong Kong Station” (?) and see if they buy their tickets in groups. There might be some safety in numbers for the Rockets game.

      • hyca7316 says:

@cavettij: Thanks for the info about “Hong Kong Station”. I thought that’s a restaurant. They sell tickets, too?

      • cavettij says:

        Hyca,
During the Lakers (?) game ABC kept flashing to the crowd at the Hong Kong Station. The place was packed! I’m sure you’ve thought about it (You’re Asian women!) but I’m concerned about 4 or 5 of you ending up in a NY Giants Travel Club section. I’ll bet the restaurant organizes or at least there is organization within the clientele.
If I can’t be there, I want you to be in good hands. (That’s a metaphore.)

      • cavettij says:

(Oh, crap! i misspelled ‘metaphor’. Bad group to make a mistake like that…)

  18. ic says:

Jeremy was Spike Lee’s “my man”, I am not sure if he still is. I think it might be a burden for Jeremy to be liked by Spike Lee. Spike is a die-hard Knicks fan, it does not mean that the player he loves has to stick to Knicks regardless how Knicks treated him. What happened in Jeremy’s free agency was something he would not submit to. Most people think that Knicks gave Jeremy the chance and he should die for Knicks. That’s terribly wrong. Knicks did not introduce him to the chance as his debut. He was randomly picked up to play because there was no other choice. If there was someone to thank, it was D’Antoni not Dolan. If it was not Jeremy the person, there would not be Linsanity.

If Spike thinks Jeremy might get whacked that’s his logic. We Jeremy’s fans worry so much if Rockets will have enough talent to support him on the court, but Jeremy seems composed. His courage and determination may be beyond our imagination.

Jeremy will spend one more day in Taipei. I guess the change of his schedule is due to the bad weather in a large part in China.

He is so happy and definitely so enjoys fans’ love here. He knows fans here will follow him wherever he goes. He knows fans here only care who he is. His fans include 5-year old kid and 84-year old grandmom. Fans take him as their grandson, atheir son, their brother, their good friend , and their lover….. A 73-year grandmom passed out in the crowd cheering Jeremy. A 84-year grandmom was asked why she liked Jeremy, and her answer was “He is so handsome!” LOL! An eight-year old girl stayed up the night just waiting for the time to go to the airport to see Jeremy. Girls travelled from other cities that took hours to get to Taipei to see Jeremy. Fans chased him when knowing where he was going, a high school boy said he touched Jeremy’s arm on Nike Summer Night, and he wanted to have chance to touch him again.

Back in the US when most media suggest that Linsanity is over, fans become skeptical, and other teams look daggers at him, Jeremy has to work extremely hard to give great plays to prove himself! He will definitely need God’s blessing.

    • hyca7316 says:

      Well said! Wonderfully said!

He needs all the support he can get, especially the game against NYK. I hope not only the fans in US can gather to cheer for him, but also fans from Taiwan, China and other parts of the world can make it to NY (12/17/12) or Houston (11/23/12).

      • ic says:

Thanks hyca. I do hope our people living or studying in East will go to cheer for Jeremy in his game in MSG like they supported him in Toronto making the game against Raptors like a home game. They seemed to go there in groups and I believe they had coordinated with as many people as possible to go there together. Some, though not all, New York fans will certainly be mean to him when Jeremy returns to MSG. Although Jeremy said in Taipei that racist and harsh attacks become motivation for him to become better, he is definitely hurt by the ugliness in the human mind.

I am not a Christian but I can feel in Jeremy’s shoe when he was cut by Rockets on Christmas Eve. If that had been anybody else, he should have abandoned his belief in God because God abandoned him on Christmas Eve. But Jeremy did not give up and sincerely believed that God has a plan on him. He truly passed God’s test.

Jeremy is said to leave Taipei today. I checked his facebook tweets, among all the loves and nice words there is an ugly one from a hater (in US) that looks so weird it just like he is from a dark world other than ours.

I wonder if Jeremy, during his brief stay in Taipei, would think why people here love him so much. He was not born and raised here, he is not used to speaking the language we speak, and he does not play games here, but people just love him. Comparing with the ambivalence of New York fans, fans here are simple. Some fans here never watched NBA before. Jeremy is loved for who he is but not only that he plays brilliant basketball.

    • ksoranna says:

ic and hyca…I could not have said it better. The Knicks and Dolan did NOT make Jeremy who he is and they did NOT give him his talent. He was already that individual and already possessed the power to play from his hard work and his strength and he gained perseverance from his family and his belief in God. His true fans know that! Spike Lee was a fan of Linsanity and what Linsanity did for the Knicks…now it shows that he was not a true fan of Jeremy, the person…he was only a fan of Jeremy, the savior of his beloved Knicks team.

and ic…seeing all the love that the fans showed Jeremy in Taiwan was so heart warming. Even if you only saw him on tv, knowing that he was only a few miles from you, must have put a smile on your face. He was so grateful and gracious to the fans…how can anyone not love him?! And both the 8 yr old and 85 yr old grandma have good taste in men b/c Jeremy is very handsome!!

and I can’t believe someone put something hateful on Jeremy’s twitter!! What did it say??

      • ic says:

It’s really nice to have Jeremy here, and he had a big dinner with all his relatives in a restaruant on the 86th floor in Taipei 101, I can see that building from the window of my bedroom.

Speaking of the hater, he put on Jeremy’s facebook dirty four-letter words and accused Jeremy as traitor. He also used the three-letter word that Amare used against a fan and was fined $50,000 by NBA. The friendship between Jeremy and Landry has been mocked and twisted by perverse people like that one. I once saw an evil tweet to Landry cursing him the same way (even worse). Jeremy once said he was shocked but sure he would not respond anything. He knows Bible teaches him to curb his tongue from sinning. That’s why he is always so graceful and always says kind words though his heart may be bleeding.

      • ksoranna says:

Jeremy is such an outstanding person. I can’t believe some of the things I’ve read about what people have said about him. Those terrible words aren’t even spoken out against me and I want to curse all of them out…so imagine how Jeremy must feel. I am glad he is a bigger person than me lol.
